Emphasizes Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code, which governs secured transactions where personal property collateral is obtained and later liquidated on default. Drafting skills are emphasized to prepare students for a transactional business practice. Following extensive consideration of Article 9, selected articles in the code are surveyed to give a flavor of its comprehensive commercial transaction coverage, particularly Articles 3 and 4, which govern negotiable instruments.
