Criminal Practice. Second and third-year
students at the School of Law can begin
developing a specialty in the field of
criminal practice. The following are the
requirements for the Criminal Practice
Statement of Completion:
1. Students must satisfactorily complete:
Criminal Adjudication
Criminal Investigation
Criminal Law
Evidence
Trial Practice
2. In addition, students must satisfactorily
complete a total of two courses selected
from the following list:
Children & the Law (spring 2007, fall
2007)
Defense Clinic (both semesters)
Prosecution Clinic (both semesters)
White Collar Crime (fall 2006, fall 2007)
Cybercrime (spring 2008)
Selected Issues in Criminal Procedure (fall
2007)
Criminal Responsibility Seminar (spring
2008)
Post Conviction Remedies (spring 2007,
spring 2008)
Note: Advanced Prosecution Clinic
cannot be used to satisfy this requirement.
3. Students must complete an academic
research paper of high professional
quality concerning criminal justice issues.
They may fulfill this requirement in
conjunction with any of the above-listed
courses and seminars, or through one of
the schoolÕs journals or legal writing
offerings. The paper must be equivalent
in depth and quality to the schoolÕs
Writing Requirement. Advance approval
of the topic is required.
