William Knight Law Center

If you are a current reciprocity recipient, please e-mail Career Services for a password to our new online recruiting system, Symplicity. PLEASE NOTE: Reciprocity is granted for three months. If that time has expired, you will need to request reciprocity through your law school again and be approved in order to receive a password.

You must request reciprocity through your school's Career Services office. If reciprocity is approved, we will register you in our new online recruiting system, Symplicity, and you will receive an e-mail with your password. Please note: if your school does not offer online services to our students/alumni, we will not be able to offer online services to you.

Students/alumni from Northwest Consortium schools (see list at the bottom of this page) are already preapproved and may register below for our new online recruiting system, Symplicity.

1. Our facilities are available to students and graduates from ABA accredited law schools that offer our students and graduates the same privileges. We do not limit the number of referrals from a single school except in the case of a school that permits reciprocity only on a one-to-one basis; in that situation, we will limit the number of referrals in the same manner.

2. We must receive a written request for reciprocity with the student’s name, address, phone number and graduation year of the student or graduate prior to the first visit. Walk-in requests will not be granted. Reciprocity will be granted for a three month period from the date of the original request, and may be extended for an additional three month period upon request. We require students and graduates to sign in on the reciprocity sign-in sheet each visit.

3. Our services and facilities are not available to students and graduates from other law schools from August 1 through November 1.

4. The following services are available through reciprocity: online access to job postings only to students/alumni of schools with comparable services; in-office review of job postings and all materials in the Resource Library (not available for check-out). Our bi-monthly graduate newsletter is available by mail to graduates of other law schools for an annual fee of $10.00; online access is available only through the BYU job bank. The password for BYU's job bank must be obtained through the student/graduate's own law school career services office.

5. The following services are NOT available to students and graduates of other schools: career counseling, resume/cover letter review, check-out of resource materials, use of office equipment (except for typewriters), and participation in on-campus interviews or resume collection for particular firms.

6. When responding to notices found through our office, we request that you state in your cover letters to employers that you obtained the listing through our office.

7. The Career Services office reserves the right to deny reciprocity to individuals who misuse our facilities or fail to comply with reciprocity policies.

Requests for reciprocity should be sent:

By email (preferred)
By fax: 541/346-3584

NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY

The University of Oregon School of Law affirms the right of all individuals to equal opportunity in education and employment, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, handicap, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, or any other extraneous consideration not directly related to effective performance.

Our career facilities and services are available only to employers whose practices are consistent with this policy. The School of Law requires employers to sign a statement of compliance before participating in any on-campus interviewing program. Posting of a job notice through the Career Services Office is construed to constitute an assurance by the employer that they will comply with our Non-Discrimination Policy.

The School of Law is compelled to make one exception to this policy. The United States Armed Forces discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation. Federal law mandates the loss of federal funds to the entire University if military recruiters are not granted the same access to campus and to students as other employers. In order to avert the loss of federal funding, the School has suspended under protest the application of its non-discrimination policy as applied to military recruiters. This exception to our policy does not in any way reflect acceptance of, or agreement with, discriminatory hiring practices.
