John Acosta is Senior Deputy General Counsel with the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon ("TriMet") in Portland. Prior to that, he was a partner with Stoel Rives LLP, where he practiced employment law, representing employers in the areas of employment litigation and counseling. He is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington, the United States District Court for Oregon, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the Oregon State Bar's Professionalism Commission. He also serves on the board of directors of Morrison Child and Family Services. Acosta has taught at the law school since 2001
