Chad Carr

Visiting Professor


Chad Carr is an Associate in the Corporate Department at the Boston office of Ropes & Gray LLP. He has assisted in teaching Negotiation courses at Harvard Law School, as well as Negotiation Workshops for practicing lawyers and other professionals in a variety of private and public organizations. Professor Carr is a former mediator with the Harvard Mediation Program where he served as a Court Liaison, training and supervising new mediators. In addition, he was a 2006 Hewlett Negotiation Research Fellow at Harvard Law School.

Professor Carr served as a judicial clerk for U.S. District Judge Patti B. Saris in the District of Massachusetts. He has also worked for Heller Ehrman LLP, the Children’s Law Center in Washington, D.C., and the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Carr taught high school math and music and worked for Active.com in San Diego. He spent a year as a spokesperson for Oscar Mayer, driving the Wienermobile through 34 states. Carr is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and Harvard Law School. He is an avid runner and rock climber, and enjoys playing and listening to music. Professor Carr will be teaching two Negotiation courses during the Fall 2008 term.
