Meadows Valley Workshop

Thursday, January 11, 2007
McCall, Idaho
9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Professor Wood's research involves a potential new role for tribes as trustees in the emerging field of conservation trust law. She is writing a paper on the topic and examining the possibility of such a role in two imperiled landscapes. One such landscape is Meadows Valley, Idaho, in which the Nez Perce Tribe has interests and may be able to play a role in conserving the broad landscape. To this end, Professor Wood, in cooperation with the University of Idaho, is facilitating a discussion by stakeholders and advocates in Meadows Valley, including the Nez Perce Tribe, the U.S. Forest Service, the Payette Land Trust, and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.
