Faculty > Svitlana Kravchenko
Professor Svitlana Kravchenko has taught environmental law for 25 years at
Lviv National University, Ukraine, and was an advisor for the Ministry of
Environment and the Parliament of Ukraine. She is the founder and president
of Environment-People-Law, the first public interest environmental law firm
in Ukraine. She is also co-founder and co-Director of the Association of
Environmental Law of Central and Eastern Europe. She served as a Vice Chair
of the IUCN Commission of Environmental Law. Svitlana worked as a "citizen
diplomat" in the international negotiation of the Aarhus Public
Participation Convention, and she serves as elected member and Vice Chair of
its Compliance Committee. Professor Kravchenko administered a program
"Human Rights for ALL" as Carlton Savage Visiting Professor of International
Relations and Peace. She is the Director of the LL.M. Program.
