Student Christina Stephenson Receives Recognition in Vance Competition

Christina Stephenson (3L) has placed second in the Andrew Vance Memorial Writing Competition for a paper entitled "Reproductive Outsourcing to India: WTO Obligations in the Absence of U.S. National Legislation." She will receive a $500 cash prize.

The award was announced at the semi-annual dinner of the Customs and International Trade Bar Association in New York on November 18, 2008. Christina's paper will be published in 2009.

The competition is sponsored by the Customs and International Trade Bar Association ("CITBA") and Brooklyn Law School to honor the memory of Andrew P. Vance. He served as president of CITBA and was greatly admired for his work in customs and international trade law. The goal of the competition is to encourage law students interested in careers in that field.
