> Outstanding Student in Law and
    Entrepreneurship Award, 2006-07
    Nicholas G. Newton

Professor Aldave, Director of the Center for Law and Entrepreneurship, is delighted to announce that Nick Newton has been chosen the Outstanding Student in Law and Entrepreneurship for 2007. Nick will receive a check in the amount of $1,000, and his name will be inscribed on a plaque that is permanently installed in the Center.

To quote from one of the letters nominating Nick for the award, "As long as I've known Nick, he has wanted to be a lawyer and start a business-at the same time. He's constantly musing about business ideas and is excited about the idea of helping start-up companies develop. One of his biggest draws to the UO law school was the Center for Law and Entrepreneurship. Nick's long-term goal is to help make Oregon a great place to be a start-up, which he will begin doing as a new associate at a Portland law firm this fall."

Nick was a Technology Entrepreneurship Program Fellow in 2005 and a member of the FloraGenetics team. This year, Nick co-chaired LESA. He organized the Venture Capital event and oversaw the business card fundraiser. He has also been a tax tutor for the last three semesters.

Congratulations, Nick!
