> Outstanding Student in Law and
   Entrepreneurship Award, 2007-08
   Casey K. Whelan

Professor Aldave, Director of the Center for Law and Entrepreneurship, is delighted to announce that Casey Whelan has been chosen the Outstanding Student in Law and Entrepreneurship for 2008. Casey will receive a check in the amount of $1,000, and his name will be inscribed on a plaque that is permanently installed in the Center.

To quote from one of the letters nominating Casey for the award, "Casey brought enthusiasm and a great degree of professionalism to the school's Small Business Clinic. I participated with him in the clinic, and was always impressed by the ease and grace with which he handled his clients, his calendar, and his general demeanor. He also developed the idea for the Sustainable Business Law Statement of Completion and saw it through to fruition. This is an impressive contribution to the University of Oregon School of Law, and his dedication to the program has contributed tremendously to the school's reputation among business and environmental law firms in the area."

Prior to law school at the University of Oregon, Casey worked for an environmental lobbyist in Sacramento and taught high school chemistry.

Congratulations, Casey!
