Third year student Lisa Lam received a scholarship from the Oregon Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers to attend the state bar Family Law Section annual convention in October. John Gartland is the president of the Oregon chapter as well as a 1977 graduate of the UO Law School.

Month of October: Toiletry drive with the Women's Law Forum to benefit Womenspace (headed by CFLA).

Sept. 27, 5:30pm: Portia Project meeting to talk about volunteering at Coffee Creek. At Sponsors.
Sept. 20, 5:30pm: Portia Project Potluck featuring a focus group of formerly incarcerated women to discuss their legal and social challenges. At Sponsors, Inc., 1756 Willamette. (If you want a ride, Hubert will probably attend.)
Sept. 20: Deadline to submit application for scholarships to attend the Family Law Section's Annual Conference at Salishan.
