The University of Oregon Christian Legal Society meets twice a month. The meetings are not mandatory but are a good way to be involved in the planning of our activities and are a time when we talk and pray for one another. Generally one of the members will give a short devotional message.
We try to have speakers come twice a semester, often over a lunch hour or in the evening. Some of the speakers we have had include Nia Fleck, a local family and estate planning lawyer, Rob Lechevallier, an estate planning attorney with a firm in Lake Oswego, and Bud Fitzgerald, a federal prosecutor. Our speakers often talk about issues involved in being a Christian lawyer, as well as give insights about their particular practices.
We try as a group to do a number of service projects throughout the year in a variety of areas. Some of our previous outreaches include work at the Eugene Mission and holding a prayer vigil after September 11.
No Christian group would be complete without fellowship. We get together as often as schedules permit to have fun and get to know one another better. Some of our past activities include a bake-your-own pizza night and barbeque night.
We have one men's and one women's small groups currently meeting. Anyone is invited to attend. The groups and their "leaders" are listed below.
Women's group - meet 9 am on Fridays - contact Melissa Wright for more info
