Profiles
Garret Epps, Orlando J. and Marian H Hollis Professor of Law Garrett Epps teaches Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, and is the faculty adviser for the UO chapter of the American Constitution Society. His expertise in constitutional law enhances the ENR Program as constitutional issues often constrain the power of legislatures and the role of courts in environmental and natural resources issues. Epps, a former staff writer for The Washington Post, is also author of two novels. He has written for The New York Times, The New Republic, and The New York Review of Books, and served as articles editor of Law and Contemporary Problems. His most recent book, To an Unknown God: Religious Freedom on Trial, concerns Oregon's famous peyote case and was one of three finalists for the American Bar Association Silver Gavel Award in 2002. In spring 2006, he will be a visiting professor at the Washington College of Law and the American University in Washington D.C. While there, he will teach Legal Fictions:Writing Stories and Novels About the Law. |
