Svitlana Kravchenko, Adjunct Professor of Law; Director, LL.M. Program in Environmental & Natural Resources Law Professor Kravchenko, Director of the LL.M. Program, has extensive international expertise in environmental law. She is well known for her work as a nongovernmental "diplomat" representing Eastern Europe in international environmental negotiations. She is an accomplished scholar and has authored and co-authored several works exploring international treaties and conventions. She serves as Vice-Chair for the Compliance Committee of the European Aarhus Convention on Public Participation. She is founder and president of one of the first public interest environmental law organizations and the first environmental law clinic in the former USSR. After 25 years in Ukraine, she began her career at the University of Oregon as the Carlton Savage Professor in International Relations and Peace. Dr. Kravchenko also served as Co-Director of the Oregon-Lviv University Partnership, which resulted in five published books and the exchange of dozens of professors. She currently teaches Environment and Human Rights, Global Environmental Problems, and International Environmental Law. |
