Family Law, Child Advocacy Law, and Elder Law

Each year Lane County Circuit Court Judge Laurie Holland, UO Law '78, presides over a mock guardianship hearing for Elder Law students.

The University of Oregon School of Law offers a rich variety of courses, clinics and externships, and activities for students who are interested in Family Law, Child Advocacy Law, and Elder Law.

The core courses in this area are:

• Family Law
• Children and the Law
• Elder Law
• Domestic Violence Seminar
• Domestic Violence Clinic
• Family Law in the World Community

Each summer students can take a Child Advocacy Externship for credit. A Domestic Violence Externship is also offered every summer, fall, and spring in Klamath Falls. You can also satisfy your law school writing requirements in these courses. And consider submitting a paper that you write to a contest where you could earn money and glory!
