Welcome to the LAW Research and Assistance (LAWRA) web site.
WHAT WE DO
University of Oregon law students assist outside environmental organizations with their legal needs. Legal needs will be as varied as the projects submitted, but may include: writing comments, working up administrative record reviews, researching, and writing briefs.
At times, a law student may wish to join in other activities. Fieldwork, contacting agencies for information, and web site assistance are a few examples of extralegal work a student might perform.
PRO BONO
Students who sign on to work with you are extremely motivated, creative, independent, and intelligent. In addition, U of O Law students have a wealth of professors, third-year students, and recent graduates to turn to for assistance. LAW members understand that "real" work can be the most invaluable education of all. Pro bono work is also an extremely important part of the University of Oregon Law School experience.
Caveat: There is no guarantee that a student will work on a submitted project. Classes, exams, and jobs are just a few of the factors that make it difficult for students to fit extra work into their schedule.
