Each spring, Oregon Law Review (OLR) and the Journal of Environmental Law & Litigation (JELL) invite students to participate in a two-week competition for journal membership. Any student in entering the 2L or 3L class may participate. Historically, the competition has included a closed-universe essay portion and a separate cite-check portion, each worth 50% of a participant's final score. Essays and cite-checks are meticulously blind-graded by journal editors and a fixed number of students are invited to join either OLR or JELL
