Located between Oregon's Pacific Coast and the volcanic Cascade mountains, the University of Oregon School of Law's scholars and graduates bring Oregon's intellectual independence and tough-minded public spirit into the national arena. As the only public law school in Oregon, we have educated lawyers, judges, and civic leaders since our founding in 1884. Our supportive, closely knit community is a comfortable home for students whose breadth of political persuasions, ethnic and cultural experiences, sexual orientation, and economic backgrounds are valued. Our students come from colleges and universities across the country. Half of them practice outside Oregon after graduation, but just as many stay, and it's not difficult to see why: Oregon's spectacular scenery, thriving economy, and progressive spirit make it one of the most livable states in the country.

In addition to its three-year, full-time program leading to a Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree, Oregon Law offers the following degree programs:

Master Degree Programs:

Concurrent Degree Programs:

Oregon Law students benefit from several special programs and centers, which assist students in cultivating areas of expertise and linking them to community organizations outside the University. Statements of Completion are offered in business law, criminal law, environmental and natural resources law, estate planning, intellectual property, international law, law and entrepreneurship, ocean and coastal law, public interest and public service law, sustainable business law and tax law.

Outside the classroom, students obtain hands-on experience through clinics and externship programs. Students also learn from each other by participating in student-run academic activities such as the Oregon Law Review, Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation, Oregon Review of International Law and several Moot court programs.

Oregon Law graduates can be found in private practice, government service and judicial clerkships, public interest and nonprofit-sector jobs, postgraduate study and academia throughout the world.
