[Configuring Wireless]
[Configuring Dial-up]
Mac OS X is pre-set to automatically configure itself correctly for UONet, the University's network.
There are three ways to connect to the UOnet network: via Ethernet, wireless, and dial-up. You will need to use your email username and password to access the network via wireless and dial-up. See below for specific instructions.
ON CAMPUS:
Configuring Ethernet
Attach an Ethernet Cable
Plug one end of the cable into the Ethernet port on your laptop. Plug the other end of the cable into a wall or desk jack. Note: The head of an Ethernet cable looks like a standard phone cord but is slightly wider (RJ45).

1. From the Apple menu select System Preferences.
2. Under the Internet and Network section select Network.

Follow this procedure every time you want to use the UO wireless network:
1. Open a web browser. If the following page does not appear automatically, type uowireless.uoregon.edu into the Location: or Address: field of the browser. Click on the UOnet Authentication link.
5. Enter your UO email address in the Username box and your password for that email account in the password box. Click the Login button.
6. You should receive a welcome message.
7. To log out, go to: http://network-services.uoregon.edu/wireless/logout.html and click Logout.
Please contact the Help Desk if you need additional assistance.
